David sold salvage Franklin fireplaces and Metalbestos
chimney in 1971 in Granbury, Texas, while simultaneously collecting antique
stoves in a restored building in Weatherford, Texas. The energy crisis of the
early 1970s prompted the addition of Ashley Stoves to the mix.

In 1976 the Granbury store closed and David's Stove
Shop was informally created in the restored building in the third block of
east Fort Worth street, Weatherford, Texas. Schrader, Earth, and Conestoga
brands were added. Moving to its present location in 1981,
"David's" was incorporated in 1983.

John Deere products were added in 1986 and other stove
lines brought the total to 18 in 1990. Presently the store's product
offerings include everything from antiques to windchimes.
